GW170817及后续多波段观测全过程
这些观测结果也证明了目前引力波探测器,尤其是aLIGO已经达到了有史以来最好的性能。做到这一点,全赖不断的升级和维护。未来,LIGO还会进行新的升级,包括镜面上的新型涂料,进一步提升镜面的放射率,Virgo也同样有提高灵敏度的升级计划。不过,由于供应链方面的迟滞,以及新冠病毒疫情的影响,第四阶段的观测(O4)将会被推迟,不会早于2022年8月开始。
