小編發現因為學校教英文的關係，我們都會去擠出一些太正式的字來用在日常生活會話中， 原來我們在跟外國人對話的時候，都用了一些他們覺得很老、太正式的詞了！ 這樣如果外國人用一些超級正式的詞在日常生活場合中你會不會覺得很好笑呢？

Television（電視） →他們會直接說 TV。
Telephone（電話） →他們只會說 phone, mobile, cell。
Refrigerator（冰箱） →他們會說 fridge。
automobile／auto（車子） →就說 car 就好了嘛！
What a pity.／What a shame.（真是遺憾阿！／真是丟臉阿！）→這台灣人超級常用到的阿！可以用 That's too bad. 更口語噢！
Pardon me.（抱歉） →太正式啦!太有禮貌啦!你就說 Excuse me 就好囉！  
還有一些字是太正式，用在句子中語意沒錯，卻顯得你很不 native speaker！

enter："I entered the building." →改成 went into 吧！
exited："I exited work at 5 p.m. yesterday." →改成 left。
departed："He is departing." →改成 leaving 就好！
received："I received mail." →改成 got。
located："I located my marker." →用 found 就好了啦！
disco：不要用這個老字，說 night club 就好！
occupation：天阿！小編也會用這個字耶！原來～跟老外講話只要說 What's your job? 就好了！

老外怎麼說：Do you speak Chinese? （意思上的不同，這句超實用的！！）
註：Do you speak Chinese? = 你會說中文嗎   Can you speak Chinese = 你會/能說中文嗎／你可以說中文嗎？

學校怎麼教：You speak Chinese very well.
老外怎麼說：I like the way you speak Chinese. （用另一種方式表達，更有fu！）

學校怎麼教：I am afraid of cold.
老外怎麼說：I can't stand the cold. （stand 是指忍受的意思）
