【【租房合同问题】】

我朋友傻乎乎的，租房签了一年合同，这几天就到期了，发现当时只签了合同 没有给他合同。。这样的话房东是不是不给他押金都可以，。

Don't be too pessimistic. As long as you have a copy of your deposit/ advance rental then the landlord is obliged to return your deposit.  Lack of contract is not a reason for refusing to honor the lease agreement because there is a de facto lease already ( meaning, lessor has received the rental and has acknowledged the existence of the lease ).

Even without a renewal, if the lessor continues to accept your rentals and you continue to stay in the premises, then there is a tacit renewal of the lease agreement ( terms will be based on the old contract ).

不要太悲观了。只要你手上有付定金的收据或凭证，副本就行。则房东就有义务退还押金给你。契约的缺失不是拒绝履行租赁协议的理由，因为一个实际上的租赁关系是存在的（意思是出租人已收到租金，并已承认接受租客的存在）。
即使没有更新，如果出租人继续接受你的租金而你继续留在该住处，那么这里就是一个默认续约的关系。（条款根据先前制订的合同不变）。
